General Information:

Communication:  You may contact your child's teacher by calling the school at 410-386-4440 or by email.  Another great way is through writing a note in your child's agenda book.

Grading System:  Students receive letter grades for all academic subjects (ELA, Social Studies, Math, Science).  Class assignments are graded out of the points system.  (Ex.6/10 or 22/26).  Tests are scored out of the points system also and will be assigned a letter grade.  100%-90% is an A, 89%-80% is a B, 79%- 70% is a C, 69%-60% is a D, and 59% and below is an F.

Checking Grades:  Parents are able to check grades at any time using Home Access Center.  Students check their grades in HAC every Friday during homeroom arrival time.  Students are then responsible for checking in with teachers regarding missing assignments.

Data Binders:  Students' graded work is kept in their data binder.  Data binders come home every other Tuesday to be reviewed and signed.  Please review your child's work, sign the signature sheet, and return to school the next day.  Reviewing data binders provides a great opportunity to celebrate accomplishments as well as discuss next steps with your child.

Homework:  Homework assignments are copied down in your child's agenda book on a daily basis.  Math homework will be given Monday-Thursday.  Homework assignments are checked in class and returned on the stay home side of your child's take home folder.  The only homework that may be assigned on Fridays are long term notices of tests, quizzes, or reviews for upcoming tests.  Please remember to initial your child's agenda daily and check to see if all assignments are completed.

Field Trip Policy:  If you would like to attend a field trip this year, you MUST complete the online volunteer training form.  Parents must complete the form at least 7 school days prior to the field trip.  There will be NO exceptions.  Depending upon the number of chaperones who volunteer, we may not be able to take every parent that signs up to chaperone.

On Track Behavior System:  We expect students to follow the school-wide 3R's for behavior (Respect, Responsibility, Relationships).  Students have the opportunity to earn up to 4 stamps per day for demonstrating the 3R's.  Stamps are earned for specials, block 1, block 2, and lunch/recess.  Students who earn at least 85% of their stamps will be rewarded with Fun Friday recess every other week.
